Project Summary
Linc Housing commissioned Piece by Piece to create a permanent mosaic mural for the community room of its newly completed residential development in Willowbrook. The mural honors Pastor Dolores Glass, a respected community leader.
Designed by Piece by Piece Artistic Director Dawn Mendelson, the mural shows a colorful sunset over a flowing ocean, with rolling waves and a rocky foreground. Stained glass, sea glass, flat and rounded tile, and matte and glossy pottery come together to give the scene its rich color and texture.
Piece by Piece social enterprise artists spent three months fabricating the mural at the Piece by Piece studio. They then installed it on-site over two days, October 19 and 20, 2026. Luis, one of the artists on the team, recently earned his Piece by Piece artist certification.
